General Trip Notes
- All trips are guided by owner/outfitter Blaine Walden (list of trips).
- All trips are fully-guided and outfitted with natural and human history interpretation.
- We usually spend between four to six hours per day in the canoes. We stop for a riverside lunch as well as take a couple of breaks during the day. Once in camp
you usually have time for other activities such as fishing or hiking.
- We get many compliments on our well-balanced menu. We carry plenty of fresh food – fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, bread and cheese – and prepare hearty home-cooked
meals. Eating well is important in the outdoors.
- We carry an extensive First Aid Kit and a Satellite phone for emergencies. Participants bring their own prescription and non-prescription medications.
- We carry bear spray and a shotgun on all trips. We also take all the necessary bear safety precautions such as keeping a clean camp, putting the kitchen area away
from the tents and advising our guests on bear safety.
- In addition to topographic maps of the rivers, we bring along a small library with bird, animal and plant identification books as well as books on the river and area
itself.
- We adhere to the principles of Leave No Trace travel. To learn more about Leave No Trace go to
leavenotrace.ca.
- See the Trip Gear List for details about what you’ll need to bring.
